Mr. Redmond graduated cum laude from Thurgood Marshall School of Law at Texas Southern University and was admitted to practice law by the State Bar of Texas in November of the same year. Prior to attending law school, Mr. Redmond received his Bachelor of Business Administration Degree from Prairie View A&M University.
Before coming to West & Associates, Mr. Redmond worked for the Dallas County District Attorney’s Office. He has tried over 70 jury trials and numerous trials before the court. He conducted comprehensive research and legal writing to assist with arguing motions in front of trial courts. Mr. Redmond was in the Organized Crime Division where he handled a caseload of over 250 first, second, and third degree narcotic cases. He worked closely with different Assistant United States Attorneys, the Drug Enforcement Agency, and other law enforcement agencies. Mr. Redmond was also in the Specialized Crime Division where he handled not only all the environmental crimes submitted to Dallas County, but also cases including trademark counterfeiting, aggregated thefts, securing and executing documents by deception, and organized retail thefts. Prior to being in those two divisions, he was in a regular felony trial court, the Intake-Grand Jury division, and was a former misdemeanor court chief.
Mr. Redmond comes to the firm to head the Election Code/Campaign Finance Divisions and the Civil Rights/Voting Rights Divisions. He will also be handling criminal cases.
Mr. Redmond was the Business editor of the Thurgood Marshall Law Review. He has been a panelist for the United States Commission on Civil Rights, the American Bar Association at Texas Wesleyan Law School and SMU Dedman School of Law, University of Texas at Arlington’s Juvenile Justice and Psychology lecture Series, and Prairie View A&M’s Criminal and Racial Justice Lecture Series.
